Intended Purpose/App. Area: Tradeplace is an independent company, set up as a joint venture of several Home Appliance- and Consumer Electronics manufacturers. Tradeplace has launched their TradePI initiative for home appliances, consumer electronics, Do-It-Yourself (DIY) and affiliated industries that are connected to Tradeplace. The initiative introduces an enhanced standard structure for product information. The TradePI Standard helps retailers to take full advantage of electronic communication and data processing, as the Internet and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) are fundamentally changing how products and services are offered, bought and sold.
