  "recommendation" is a standardized identifier (this identifier may be used without its associated number in the ASN.1 notation of an OID).

ITU-T Recommendations (International Telecommunication Union - Telecommunication standardization sector)


The sub-arcs a(1) to z(26) are for each series of ITU-T Recommendations as defined in Rec. ITU-T A.12, then comes an arc for each Recommendation with its number.

Note: OID 0.0 (identified by null or zeroDotZero) is also illegally used in Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Management Information Bases (MIBs) to identify uninitialized objects (see IETF RFC 2578).
